Have you ever met someone who didn’t like cupcakes? The answer to that question should be obvious because these sweet treats delight everyone from young to old. Cupcakes are so admired by food lovers all around because they are sweet and delicious, as well as small and personal. There’s nothing like having a dessert that was made just for you.
Cupcakes are convenient. Children enjoy them for school parties. You can transport and travel easily with a cupcake. A store bought container is the nicest. Now coming with handles, and perfectly sized can make the look more attractive. With my son, I would not send anything I expected him to return with. So, a cardboard box usually made do. What is nicer at a party than a good looking, festive table? A cake stands alone. Cupcakes can be displayed in so many appealing ways. The latest hit is the cupcake stand. This can be store bought, which comes as a basic stand, or color coordinated. If you cannot find what you are looking for, you can always stack small boxes on top of larger boxes, place several boxes around the table, or even one large box. To color coordinate, you can find wrap paper to match. They can be very elaborate.
A game that all children love is " Pin the Cherry on the Cupcake ". You can buy fabric versions of the cupcake party game, but I always love a home-made copy that the children can help decorate. Draw a large cupcake on a sheet of large paper and decorate with lots of color and sparkles. This is a fun game and perfect for your cupcake theme party. I always find my children love coloring the cupcake as much as they like playing the game. Decorating the game could also become a party activity. When you want to keep the little guests occupied, get them to frost and decorate their own cupcakes. Make a batch of cupcakes, have bowls of different coloured frosting and a variety of sprinkles, candies and edible toppers and let the kids go wild! They can either eat their cupcake immediately or take it home with them. If you are planning to serve cupcakes as the birthday cake and don’t want to decorate them as a party game as well, make cookies in a cupcake shape (using a cupcake cookie cutter) and the children can decorate them instead. My children love painting plaster shapes. Cupcake shaped moulds are readily available, so make up some shapes prior to the party and let the children paint. Supply acrylic paints and have a range of glitter, beads, sequins etc to adhere to their faux cupcakes. My daughter and her friends love painting these and the finished results look spectacular and are really individual.
