Cupcake makers help you conserve energy. If you advocate eco-friendly appliances, then cupcake makers should be added to your list of green appliances. They have energy conservation features that are otherwise absent in ovens. They do not use much heat unlike ovens, which can make the summer months more uncomfortable because of the huge amount of heat that they generate. Moreover, they do not use up a lot of space, which makes them handy if you want to make cupcakes outside your home.
There is a new trend in desserts that is all the rage in today’s world. That trend is cupcakes. But that doesn’t mean just the plain vanilla or chocolate cupcake with regular icing. Today’s cupcakes come in many new varieties and flavor combinations, many exotic and exciting. Think of a peanut butter and jam cupcake topped with maple cream icing. Or how about a cappuccino cupcake with Grand Marnier frosting. Those are just a couple examples of cupcake creations that you can bake in your own home. Along with the great new tastes offered in cupcake recipes, the way the cupcakes are topped and decorated are new and trendy as well. The simple swirl of icing on the top of a cupcake just doesn’t cut it anymore. Although many good cupcakes are simple ones, today’s cupcake maker wants to go above and beyond the norm and offer truly beautiful cupcakes with unusual and highly decorative toppings.
A game that all children love is " Pin the Cherry on the Cupcake ". You can buy fabric versions of the cupcake party game, but I always love a home-made copy that the children can help decorate. Draw a large cupcake on a sheet of large paper and decorate with lots of color and sparkles. This is a fun game and perfect for your cupcake theme party. I always find my children love coloring the cupcake as much as they like playing the game. Decorating the game could also become a party activity. When you want to keep the little guests occupied, get them to frost and decorate their own cupcakes. Make a batch of cupcakes, have bowls of different coloured frosting and a variety of sprinkles, candies and edible toppers and let the kids go wild! They can either eat their cupcake immediately or take it home with them. If you are planning to serve cupcakes as the birthday cake and don’t want to decorate them as a party game as well, make cookies in a cupcake shape (using a cupcake cookie cutter) and the children can decorate them instead. My children love painting plaster shapes. Cupcake shaped moulds are readily available, so make up some shapes prior to the party and let the children paint. Supply acrylic paints and have a range of glitter, beads, sequins etc to adhere to their faux cupcakes. My daughter and her friends love painting these and the finished results look spectacular and are really individual.
